Callahan Holding Release Paths

An official Florida juvenile-justice monitoring-universe document lists the NCSO Callahan Sub-Station as a law-enforcement facility. The research did not identify it as a county correctional institution, state prison, or public adult jail roster. NCSO says adults arrested in Nassau County are brought to the county jail booking desk. That makes transport the usual bridge between a short Callahan hold and a searchable county booking.

A person may leave the substation for NCSO booking, another agency, medical care, court, or a lawful direct release based on the actual event. Only the agency record can identify which path occurred. If the person entered the county jail, a later bond, court order, sentence completion, or transfer is recorded there. The Callahan site does not become a separate released-inmate database merely because temporary holding occurred.

Confirm Callahan Holding Release

Start with the incident rather than searching for a nonexistent Callahan inmate list. Full name, incident date, case number, and deputy name can help NCSO locate the arrest and transport record. Then use the receiving custodian's system.

1. Ask NCSO Records for the arrest, temporary-hold, and transport or destination record tied to Callahan.
2. Search the NCSO current-custody inquiry for a county jail booking.
3. If matched, note the subject or booking number and treat any scheduled date as provisional.
4. If absent after a known booking, call NCSO booking at (904) 548-4006 for the actual event and destination.
5. Check the Nassau Clerk docket for bond, disposition, judgment, or release authority.

NCSO's online notice says released arrestees are not reported. A missing name is thus a clue, not proof of release. It may reflect spelling, no county booking, completed release, a transfer, or a different custodian. The arrest-to-transport chain resolves that ambiguity.

Callahan Holding Record Request

Ask for existing records with a narrow event range. Identify the full name and aliases if known, incident or arrest date, location, case number, deputy, and any NCSO subject or booking number. Request the arrest record, temporary-hold entry, transport or receiving-agency field, and any related county booking/release event. If only the destination matters, say so.

NCSO does not have to answer a legal question or create a narrative it does not maintain. It can produce nonexempt fields and redact protected material. Request electronic copies and ask for an estimate before extensive work. The 2026 schedule includes $0.15 letter copies, $0.20 legal copies, and possible special-service charges for extensive technical, clerical, or redaction work.

Florida GS2 supplies retention rules for law-enforcement and correctional records, but it does not prove every optional series exists at the substation. The permanent jail docket and one-anniversary-year minimums for certain record copies become relevant only when the corresponding county-jail series was created. Ask the custodian for the exact series.

Callahan Short-Term Holding Role

The Callahan Sub-Station is best described as a law-enforcement substation and short-term holding site. That wording follows the official monitoring source and avoids unsupported claims about long-term custody, sentenced inmates, medical programs, visitation, commissary, or a separate corrections staff. None of those county-jail features was established for Callahan.

Adults arrested in the county generally move to the Nassau County Jail & Detention Center for booking. The county portal then reports them only while current custody remains. If a booking never occurred, the Callahan arrest and transport record plus the court case may be the only local trail. If booking did occur, use the county release event. This facility type also changes the meaning of “released from Callahan.” Leaving the building may only mean transport. Community release requires the event record or later custodian record, not a physical departure alone.

Callahan Release to ICE

The official 2019 NCSO and ICE agreement documents a process in which a scheduled release from local criminal custody could turn into an ICE custodial handoff. It does not say that Callahan is an ICE detention center. No standalone ICE facility was found in Nassau County, and the agreement's present status must be checked.

Trace the person from Callahan to the county jail, then ask NCSO for the release destination. If the record names ICE, use the ICE detainee locator and information line. A transfer to ICE is not a return to the community. A negative ICE result also cannot prove freedom, removal, deportation, or current location.

Callahan Federal Custody Route

Nassau County's Sheriff Federal Inmate Fund confirms that federal inmates can be housed in the county jail. Therefore a person first held around Callahan may later occupy the Nassau jail under federal authority. Physical presence in a county building does not identify who controls the case or where the person goes next.

Ask NCSO for the transport and destination. Sentenced federal custody can be checked through the BOP Inmate Locator. Many federal pretrial cases instead require the federal docket or U.S. Marshals route. A BOP result reading “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” ends only the BOP part of the inquiry because another agency or supervision may remain.

Callahan Release Court Record

The Nassau Clerk criminal docket gives the legal context after a Callahan arrest or hold. It can contain bond orders, filed charges, dismissal, judgment, jail credit, probation, commitment to FDC, or later violation and revocation proceedings. That record may explain why release was authorized or why custody continued. It normally does not replace the NCSO transport record or provide the exact time the receiving jail finished processing.

Search by exact case number when known. When using a name, compare filing dates and other identifiers to avoid joining two cases. A release order can coexist with another hold, and a bond posting can end detention while the case stays open. The strongest chain pairs the court's legal authority with NCSO's temporary-hold destination and the later booking or release event.

If the person moved into FDC custody, the statewide offender detail becomes the state record. If the person stayed only in the county jail, do not use the state prison gain-time framework to calculate a date. A county sentence begins with the Nassau judgment, lawful jail credit, and concurrent or consecutive terms. NCSO performs the local computation. Request the executed event afterward because a scheduled field remains provisional until release or transfer occurs.

Florida VINE may follow the person once the correct Nassau County or FDC record is matched. It does not supply a separate Callahan roster. Register against the actual custodian and read any release or transfer notice as an agency-fed status event. Then call the custodian for the destination and request the record when proof is needed.

If the arrest record names another county or a federal agency, stop using the Nassau roster as the main source. Continue with the named receiver, since each custodian records its own admission, movement, and release. Save the transport date and receiving-agency name with the request.
